2-07-18 (Wednesday) HY: Pickle-Ball + Tennis.
Another double day!
Since I took the day off yesterday, John and I didn't play Pickle-Ball. And because of school events, Thursday and Friday were out of the question. So, if we were to play this week, it had to be today. And it was a very free day at that. Nothing to do in the morning and only one meeting in the afternoon. So, we played in the morning, the coldest time of the day.
In the first game, I fell behind pretty quickly, 0-3, but then I slowly worked my way back. Once I took the lead, I kept it. I took the game 15-10. The second game started off just like the first, with me going down 0-3. I did my best to catch up, but I just couldn't break that plateau. I lost 11-15. The third game was very competitive. There was one point that the score was 7-5. We traded service several times, but I finally broke the tie and didn't look back. I took that game 15-13. As I said, I didn't look back. That went for the next two games. But the score doesn't tell the whole story. There were a lot of really good rallies and a lot of good shots. The pace of the game had really picked up, and I was pressuring and pushing every point. We played a rare 5 games, me going 4-1 this routine. The score of the last two games were 15-3 and 15-5. It is a lot more fun to watch my former family with kids.
Wednesday is the regular tennis day, so I had to relax some when I got home, and then I had to get going to the courts to be on time. The menu was the same as usual but with a few variations to accommodate the numbers. I'm starting to not feel comfortable on court again. I can feel myself hitting off my back foot instead of pushing on into the court, and move forward into the ball. No Serve/Return practice. I was so erratic. I'd hit a great shot, then shank my next few. I need stability in my game. But it was a good workout... TWICE TODAY!!!
In the end, I burned a total of 2557 kcals. Even though I love tennis and Pickle-Ball, I would like to keep doubling up a secret.
