11-28-17 (Tuesday) HY: P90X3 - Cold Start + The Challenge + TCF.
Today is the one day between my sports days during this "special" week. So it had to be a resistance day. For some reason, I was really wanting to do The Challenge even before I looked at my options which means I had only one option for today. Since I decided to do one of the most brutal routines in X3, I knew I had to start off with Cold Start. Just to be safe.
It has been a while since I did regular Pull-Ups or Push-Ups and I was a little nervous about the numbers. So I chose numbers that I thought would be challenging and doable. 8 Pull-Ups and 25 Push-Ups.
The only fully intact round was the first round with Wide Pull-Ups and Standard Push-Ups. From the next round, the splits started. Only one, at first on the second round of Military Push-Ups, then the last two circuits were full of splits. See Below for all the splits. I kind of expected to fade on the Military Push-Ups, but I was a little surprised that I needed a split on the Wide Push-Ups. It happened only once on this worksheet, 5.5 months ago. I knew the Close Grip Pull-Ups were going to be a problem. I think I need to re-evaluate my Pull-Up form because in order for me to get full RoM, I am going all the way down to a hang, but that gets my body swinging and I can't go back up right away. By the last circuit, my arms were feeling like noodles. I surprised that I was able to get that last circuit done. Then in the burn out, I fell one short of my record of 12 rounds. I ended up with a good Flow series.
In the end, I burned 674kcals. No extras today because my arms were totally fried. I love the pump and burn I always get from this routine. I hope I'm not too sore to play tennis tomorrow.
